| "Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs - he wants to please his commanding officer." 2 Timothy 2:3-4 This painting is about being focused; being a soldier for Christ and not distracted by the world, symbolized by the watch and building. A soldier brings to mind a man who is tired, hungry and away from home but still alert and ready to fight. Someone who is obedient to a commander. If the young soldier in the painting loses his focus, he will get hurt or someone else who is depending on him will. The same is true for us as soldiers of Christ.
