| "Today, if you would hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts" Ps. 95:7-8 NASU "They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts." Eph. 4:18 NIV We often build walls to guard our heart from someone who has hurt us. The wall can also keep out the voice of God and the conviction to forgive that we don't want to hear. In scripture, a plumb line is symbolic of God's judgment. A mason uses one to make sure his wall is square. We use our judgments to justify the rightness of our wall. Our judgments are never right, as we don't have the infinite perspective of God. They only separate us from "the life of God".
