“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV

It blesses the Lord when you still seek Him when all is well in your life.  The opposite is also true.  It blesses Him when you give thanks during a hard time.  I’ve always been amazed at a plant growing out of a crack in the concrete.  In history, the violet has been used as a symbol of humility.

  Thanksgiving is rooted in humility.  If we are proud, we are more apt to say, “I don’t deserve this” and become angry.  This painting is a picture of the beauty of thanksgiving springing up during a hard, desert part of the journey.
